that today is the most depressing day of the year. Refreshing! Today was a yucky Monday. I had a long weekend of boozing. Friday night we had a leaving party for my co-worker, Carla. The boozefest started around 5.30pm at work and ended for this cat around 11.30 pm. I woke up on Saturday with my pj's on backwards and a giant bruise on my hip. Don't ask... no idea...
Saturday was uh-mazing! I was uber hungover but I had scheduled a massage which I had a gift certificate for. It was just what the masseusey-q ordered!! After my sweet rubdown (happy ending not included) I went across the street to Macy's (my motherland) to shop around and wait for Kevo to come join me. I really wanted to buy some Vera Wang Sheer Veil perfume (gift idea, anyone? anyone?...) but unfortunately they were sold out of that kind. I started talking to the nice little boy named Omar and I told him that I was really disappointed when I heard they discontinued the Vera Wang Look. Nice boy says hold on one second. Goes over and comes back with this little gift sized perfume and lotion box! Here, he says, enjoy!! Ka-ching!
Saturday night rolls around and I thoroughly was not looking forward to going out as I was still mega hungover from Friday. We had a friend that we met in Dublin who was in town for the weekend. (Shout out to Aisling, woot woot!!) So we were trying to meet up with her. We met up with a couple of friends at this bar that is quite possibly my new favorite place. It's called Maye's and they played hella good music! Was dancing the night away and then we went to some dive bar around the corner to meet up with Aisling and her mates. Sometimes when I go out, I really enjoy drinking malibu rum and pineapple as was the case this evening. I asked the bartender for one and he gave me a half grin, half smirk and served me up my sweet libation! I just really love fruity drinks and they go down so easy esp when your having trouble giving in to the hair of the dog that bit you!! Anyhoo, it was good fun and it was great to meet up with a friend from across the pond!
The next day we met for brunch and had a bit of wine before coming home and calling it a weekend. I had to work hella early this morning bc I had to open the restaurant so I thought I'm buzzed, it's been a long weekend I'll go to bed early. Ok early was like 8.45 and NEVER a good idea to try and go to bed that early again!!! I woke up at 11.45pm and was up until 4 in the morning!!!!!! SO annoying. I finally fell back asleep but had to wake up at 5am for work. It was horrible. My boss is like you look really tired today, lol. Thanks Chief! :-)
So it's been a not so exciting day and this rain really is making me feel depressed. Plus I am super white. Why won't the sunshine come out already?!?!?! I took a couple benadryl and am hoping that I will pass out in the next hour so I can try to wake up and work out at 4am. Yes, I understand that is entirely too ambitious but a girl's gotta try, right... Hope you all had a lovely weekend. Try to cheer up on the most depressing day of the year. Or just enjoy a nice glass of Cab. After all, life is good, eh!
