In the land of unlimited bloody mary's...

And all I'm really craving right now is a giant pint of Bulmers. Every once in a while I just really miss the whole Irish socialization setting. Every Friday (and usually 1-2 other days of the week as well) after work, we'd nip over to the pub right next door and indulge in a few pints of the healthy stuff. So typically Irish. The bartender's name was Patsy. And he was marrying his coworker, Elaine. Such a different scene there.
It took me quite a while to get used to this place called Bowe's. I remember the first time I was there. I don't remember if Kev took me when I went to visit or if it was when I had actually already moved to Dublin. Anyhow, there were 4 of us there. (I can name all 4 if you ask nicely! :-)) And honestly I didn't really enjoy it. Nor the 27+ other times Kev always made me go after work on a Friday or as I said before a couple other days of the week. And then one day, it just felt like home.
By the end of my stay in Dubby, I can imagine I prolly would have gone into Bowe's by myself for a pint. NO. I did not do this. Because you know why. Every time I wanted to go for a drink, I would walk in and almost guaranteed you would see someone you know from the Westin Dublin crew. The humble abode away from abode. (I know, is that even a legit saying???) I guess what I'm saying is that I met some really good people on my stint abroad. And I would have to say that I probably learnt the most and made the closest friends all because of this little place 'where everybody knows your name...'
